Press Release 2.26.2010 – Health Care Summit in D.C.

15+ years experience in HealthCare sector for candidate

Mt. Juliet, TN – Jeff Hartline, a Republican candidate for Tennessee’s 5th District congressional seat, released the following statement Friday morning.

“Yesterday our President and members of the Congress met for an entire day to discuss healthcare reform. This “open-door” session was a waste of taxpayer time and money, and today we are no closer to a decision than we were on Wednesday. The President’s goal of winning support failed.”

“As someone who spent many years working with doctors and practice managers, it is obvious that the American people are concerned about rising health costs and affordability of care. I appreciate the President gathering together a bipartisan group to openly discuss the bills in the Congress. However, his plan is a disaster of government intrusion and tax increases.”

“It is clear that the American people are not happy with the bill up for debate in congress. Despite the best efforts of our current Senators and Representatives in Congress, it appears that they have lost sight of the will of the people. That is certainly the case in this district.”

“Today’s health summit in Washington was little more than an opportunity for the Democrats to do some political posturing. The American people got little benefit from these proceedings. Republicans were long last able to show the American people that they are not opposed for no reason, but have free market solutions to current Health Care problems. The American voter will make his/her will known at the voting booth this Fall.” ”

Jeff worked in the area of Health Care for over 15 years. His career began in Atlanta recruiting physicians. He then owned and operated a physician recruiting firm in Nashville for 8 years. He also managed medical practices in Nashville and Lebanon for another 7 years. He and his wife Melodie live in Mt. Juliet, and their three children live in Nashville.
